The first principle of making a friend

One girl told me that you should make friend with someone who is more successful and better than you, or from whom you can learn. This is the first principle of making a friend.

A successful friend can offer you help when you’re in trouble while a friend who is not as good as you can only give you trouble because he always needs your help when he has hard time. This principle sounds perfect, but if everyone obeys it, what’s gonna happen?
Let us assume that there are 10 person, we call the most successful person “No.1" and of course the worst is No.10. Every one of them obeys this principle; therefore the No.1 will not have any friends because no one is better than him while No.2 will never make any friends with the person who is after him except No.1. But he will be definitely refused by No.1. At the end he also has no friends. Same thing happens to the rest of the people. Everyone is friendless.

How terrible this principle is! How selfish and cold this society will be! Damn.

I have friends who has a very hard life, some of them didn't even go to college and not well-educated but I feel so comfortable every time when I'm with them. I feel relaxed and happy even if we don’t say anything to each other. I enjoy the moment. That's friendship and I stick to it.
