我出生在(了)上海? with the “le”
as you say

Hi Brent, actually 昨天你在了那里?(zuo tian ni zai le na li) is wrong. 在 (zai) is never used with 了(le). What I said is “昨天你去了哪里? (zuo tian ni qu le na li)”, means “Where did you go yesterday’”? “Le” is used as the Past Tense.

Hi Benny,
This is my first post/comment. In these instances you don’t use ma at the end of the question. Is this because the ji in ni ji sui for example is understood to be a question word?
