Blazing Buddha, I know you are quite professional with western food. Can you give us some knowledge of that? What’s your favorite?

Rang lai mai dan… wo bu yao mai dan!
… hao de, wo mai dan. :p Sounds good. ;)

I would say the most popular food where I live is probably chips, pizza and… Mcdonalds! Not the most healthy of foods. Personally, though, I’m more of a rice and pasta kind of guy.

Wo3 bu4 yao4 la4 – heh, that sounds very angry when I hear it in my mind. Wo3 bu4 xi3 huan5 hen3 la4 [food] – I’m not sure what the word for food is. I don’t mind a little spicy, though. Xia4 ci4 jian4!

“shi2 wu4” is “food”, but you don’t need say that when you say “Wo3 bu4 yao4 la4”. Maybe the food was too spicy to eat, that guy was very angry, haha.

yo Marta Chan!
with regards your question. i may be wrong, im sure benny can verify this for us, but, i believe, the word ‘bu’, which is usualy in the fourth tone, is not able to remain in the fourth tone if it precedes another word in the second tone, so it is changed to the second tone. for instance, you couldn’t have bu4 shi4, it would have to be bu2 shi4. so that would mean that this audio only video, where bu is used in the fourth tone, would be the mistake. correct me if im wrong. thanks so much for this site and everything, its great! when i recieve my first pay cheque, i’ll be sending you a high five benny! xie xie, xie ci jian
