Benny I want to ask about the word “shi” in ban gong shi, why this shi in piyin is wrote in the same way that shi in the verb “to be”?, I have noticed that in Chinese character have a different structure. Look “bàn gōng shì 办公室” and “shì 是”. weishenma?

Did you mean ‘how do you say..’, right? ‘freelance’ is ‘zi you zhi ye zhe’. Are you are a ‘zi you zhi ye zhe’?
