Haha! That’s funny!! You’re learning so well.

By the way, what do you mean “wan yi dian dian”? If you mean “Slow a little bit”, it should be “man yi dian dian”. :-)

Benny, this “experience” Duo shao qian/Pian yi yi dian (2007-06-03) there is no text or audio. Am I missing something or doing something wrong?

I only see comments all of which are good, but nothing to do with improving my Chinese.

All the best,

Ma lai li

When you say “pianyi yidian” are you asking someone to sell at a cheaper price, or are you telling them that the price is cheap?

Pianyi yidian is not just useful in China, I have used it in Chinese shops in the west where bargaining is not so usual , however sometimes the shopkeepers are pleasantly surprised to hear a westener say it that they may give a little of the price :)
Note: I have found that using the phrase ‘Tai gui le ’ which means ’ that’s expensive’ doesnt work so well as it can be construed as a criticism.
Also look out for when you are told the percentage of discount you will get as the chinese dont say ’ 10 percent discount ’ they say ’ 90 percent ’ which means that is what you will pay of the original price.
Hope this helps
