I have been learning Mandarin Chinese from your videos and it’s been so helpful, but I have been youtubing around and I notice different chinese languages. (Pinyin Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, and then I heard of something called Southern Chinese) Can you tell me about different Chinese Languages?

Hi PrincessShiya,

What we are teaching is called “Mandarin” which is the official language in China. The traditional Chinese is only used in HongKong and TaiWan, nowadays we only simplified version in Mainland.

As for the southern Chinese, it just the way people speak in south of the China, not that different from Mandarin
