how do you say the typical colors in mandarin? blue, red, green, black, etc.

Let me give you some basic colors in chinese: red = hong, blue = lan, green = lv, hei = black, huang = yellow, bai = white.

Also, color in chines is “yan se”, therefore white color is “bai yan se”, but we often say “bai se”, “yan” could be omitted.
