in the last video on verbs benny says that we can say wo yao mai cha. I was wondering if it is also ok to say Wo yao mai yi ge bei cha. thanks.

ni hao, Steven. “yi ge bei cha” is not correct. It should be “yi bei cha”. “ge” and “bei” are both measure word, they can’t be used together. Also “ge” can’t be used for drinks. For drinks you may say:

yi bei cha = a cup of tea

yi ping pi jiu = a bottle beer

yi ting/ guan ke le = a can of Coke
