Well, I haven’t learned Korean but I guess Korean is much easier than Chinese. Because in Korean you have alphabets, whereas in Chinese, you have to learn all the characters by heart and it’s easier to guess the pronounciation of the words when you are using alphabets.
Other than that, I find Chinese pronounciation very difficult because it has five tones, that are really difficult to master, and Cantonese has, I guess, nine or ten tones, I’m not sure.
Well, on the other hand, I think Chinese is not difficult, it’s just different and very unique for foreigners. A kind of a language that is entirely new to them. That’s one of the reasons why I like Chinese very much is because it’s totally unique and it’s always exciting to learn new things. No matter how difficult it is, if we are unable to master it, it’s our problem.
Moreover, the way this language evolved over thousands of years is really amazing, I guess every single Chinese character has a long story to tell and I feel that every Chinese character is very artistic.
Once I have a full grip in simplified Chinese characters, I’ll start using the traditional Chinese characters because they always look good and are real hanzi.
