Hi miss pinyin honestly i am a beginner i was wondering how long would it take for me to learn mandarin just speaking and understanding it, I mean i read it 2 hrs regularly i know numbers time colours and buying and not buying things thank you xie xie zai jian

ni hao, xie xie ni de question. I would say it really depends on how much time you spend in learning Chinese. Nomally it takes you 2 months to learn the basics. These words are enough for you to get by. If you want to speak quite good Chinese and understand most of the Chinese people. That will be a long journey! In this case I would say minimum 1 year with hard work and regular practice.
