i have another question.
how come that the tone of zai4 in “zai4 jian4” and zai4 in “zai4 na3 li3” are the same but written in different characters?

Hi Karen,

In Chinese, there are many characters that have exact same pronunciation while in different characters. This is part of the Chinese language. You can only tell the difference based on the context or the characters
