nǐ hǎo Benny! zhù nǐ xīn nián kuài le

I would like to ask 2 questions:

1) Whats the diff. between 亮 and 光. If i wanna say “too bright”, can i say “太光”?

2) How do I use this word 闷 ? as I checked from a dictionary it means either mēn (stuffy) or mèn (melancholy). I would like to know how to use mèn (melancholy) here.
