Hi Benny, how are you? Long time no see.
I want to ask you a question:
What does “所” means in 侦察所 in the below sentence? Is it one word or “所” is a seperate word? What does it mean?
当我从楼门出来的时候，这时候又过来一辆车，这个车就是我们之前侦察所纳入范围的犯罪分子所使用的车，而且车上有五个人

所 indeed means place like in 厕所 where it means “place” in this case lavatory -place and indeed in 侦察所 scout place, or station, like Benny said.. It is also a measure word for buildings an houses as in:
四所房子 4 houses.
And of course there is 所以
