Ni hao, ni hao ma? I’m just so happy bec. I booked my tickets to come in China in March/April 2008 ! I will arrive in Hong Kong on March 28 and leave on April 19. I will stay in HK one week for my job, but still have 2 weeks during which I really want to visit interesting places. I also need to go to Shanghai and Hangzhou to meet friends. Apart from these 3 cities, I have no real plan. Could you give me some tips so I can organize a nice travel ? And one important point, I will travel alone and although I’m “adventurous”, I’d like to travel in the most secure way for a young woman ! Xiè xiè !

Ni hao, Severine! Xie xie ni de wen ti.

First of all, welcome to China! March/April is a nice season for trip, especially for Southern China, like Hongkong, shanghai and Hangzhou. It’s the Spring in these cities, while it’s still a little bit cool in northern of China. But I’ll still recommend you to go to the north.

Since you have 2 weeks for travelling, it’s quite enough to organize a relax trip. I suggest apart from those 3 cities, you can consider Beijing, Huangshan mountain and Yunnan.

Beijing is the capital, I don’t think you will miss it when you come to China, besides, it’s about history. You’ll see a lot difference from Shanghai and Hongkong, though they’re all modern cities. But if you’ve been Beijing before, you can go to Xi’an instead, to take a look at terra-cotta warriors. Huangshan mountain is said the most beautiful mountain in China, you’ll not regret to visit there. And Yunnan, very beautiful and full of different culture as many miniorities live there.

Well, before you come to China, you may let us know your schedule, so we can give you some suggestion for a best route.

Xia ci liao! (talk to you later)
