I am a high schooler taking the first year of Mandarin. I have a question. In my book, zhe(4th tone) can also be zhei(4th tone). Is there a difference, or does it matter which sound you say? Also, the same for na(4th tone) and nei(4th tone). Thank you

zhe and zhei.na and nei. There is no difference between the meaning. the sound is only because of the different area. China is a big country,so different area will have the different accent. Take it easy! | |
