Benny, can you explain how on to use the word nong4? I know it has the meaning of ‘to do’ but my friend (also learning chinese) believes that it can also mean ‘to make’. For example, ni3 nong4 wo3 sheng1 qi4 le and nong4 de wo3 zhen1 bu4 hao3 yi4 si. Are those examples correct? Thx

 | | | | Hi, Henry “nong” is a local word and used in a more casual occasion. Both “to do” and “to make” are fine but depending on situations. “ni3 nong4 wo3 sheng1 qi4 le” means you make me angry.
 “nong4 de wo3 zhen1 bu4 hao3 yi4 si” means you make me feel sorry.
“nong” in these two sentences is a link verb means “to make”.
 “zhe4 ge4 shi4 qing2 ni3 zen3 me nong4” means what do you plan to do for this matter?“wo3 qu4 nong4 dian3 chi1 de” means I get something to eat.
“nong4” in these sentences is a verb means “to do”.
