Hi, charina,wel~~
Hokkien is a local chinese language used in Fujian Province. Mandarin is an offical language used in all parts of China even in Fujian.
As I know, hokkien songs are very nice and popular.

Hi Jenny! Thank you for the very quick response. I really appreciate it. Im from Manila Philippines, and i think, but not sure, the chinese language i hear predominantly here is what they call fookien? Do i first learn it or mandarin? Im very interested to learn both! I have no chinese background so i want to still learn the basics. Which do you think i would learn forst? Thank you very much for the prompt response!

It always my pleasure.
Because fookien is limited used, I suggest you start to learn mandarin. If you can speak mandarin, you may travel all around China 360,0000km2!But if you learn fookien, only Fujian province with 12.14km2. And with the development of China’s economic, mandarin will become more and more polular.Join us now~~
