Hi Benny! you are very inspirational to all non-chinese speaking persons to learn the language. May i ask is mandarin and hokkien (fookien) the same language? Just curious. Thanks!

Hokkien is a local chinese language used in Fujian Province. Mandarin is an offical language used in all parts of China even in Fujian.
As I know, hokkien songs are very nice and popular. | |

Because fookien is limited used, I suggest you start to learn mandarin. If you can speak mandarin, you may travel all around China 360,0000km2!But if you learn fookien, only Fujian province with 12.14km2.
