        Ni hao lao shi benny. i just started a manderin class in my uni. a few of my class mate quit the course because they  are making us learn charecters straight away. do you think it would be easier without them. oh and is written charecters in taiwan different to china. thanks

 |  |  |  | Hi, Luke, Nice pic~In Taiwan, they use traditional chinese. But in China Mainland,we use simplified chinese. However, there is not too much difficulty to understand each other. Pronounciation is the same just differences in spelling.
 I think you may start from Pinyin. That will make you easier.
