hey benny – i just bought my second chinese dictionary the first one wasn’t a good one but this new one is the best. it’s the oxford beginner’s chinese dictionary and it’s specially designed for beginning leraners it has explanations and phrases and all kids of useful things but i wanted to ask you something . i don’t think chinese is that hard at all ofcourse it’s gonnatake me some time to get used to the stucture and so on but what i’m realy conserned about is the tones . I REALLY DON’T KNOW HOW TO PRONOUNCE THEM ? could you please help me or if you read this and you know how please tell me i’m deperate

How about that?
You can take the first tone like driving a car on the long and flat road. so it is long and flat.
The second tone is like when you ask question or you have doubt, you raise you voice in a question tone.
Eg: is it?
The third tone is like you are driving from up to down, the go up again, it is same long as first tone, but not flat.
The fourth tone is like you are making a decision, like"done!" it short be down and short.
